Fit Guide
What size is your kid's foot?
No two kids feet are the same and not all manufacturers use the same moulds for making shoes. We at Kidshoos.com care about your children's feet and recommend you carefully check your child's foot size using our sizing chart that lists both US and European sizing scales. We personally verify the size of every single shoe style we sell. We never simply offer the vendor's standard size information, because we want the shoes you order online to fit you right the first time. If the description of a pair of shoes on Kidshoos.com says "Runs small, order one full size larger," we determined this ourselves in an effort to perfect the sizing recommendation offered by the manufacturer.
We want to make sure that no matter what shoes you are buying, they will fit comfortably and provide the support your little ones feet need at this age.

Using our sizing chart:
Print the page on a regular 8 1/2 x 11 printer. Place the paper on the floor. Place your child's feet on the paper measure for size one foot at a time. (Make sure that the inch lines on the printed ruler actually measure an inch. Otherwise this chart will not work.) For best results, your child
should be:
• Standing up against the
wall on a hard surface.
• Distributing full weight
equally on both feet.
• Make sure feet are flat and toes are not curled.
• Be sure to measure both feet!
• Place child’s heel directly on the line indicated by the heel mark on the chart.
• Read the first line past the
longest toe.
• If the two numbers are different,
select the larger number of the two feet.
• If your child's feet measure a half size, we recommend ordering the next whole size.
Foreign to U.S. Size Conversions
When converting a foreign shoe size to your child's shoe size, you may have seen or heard general conversion charts. These rules should not necessarily be applied when buying a pair of shoes from Kidshoos.com. Nor should you generalize based on previous shoes you have bought. Even if you bought a pair of Euro Size 28 shoes before and they fit your child, the next size 28 shoes may not (even if they come from the same manufacturer). There are many possible reasons, including brand-specific standards, style anomalies and specific factory standards.
We custom-measure every style of shoe from every brand. If a conversion to a U.S. size is not clearly stated on the shoebox already, we offer our own custom conversion for each foreign pair of shoes. Even if the conversion is clearly stated on a shoebox, we display not only the vendor's own conversion for each pair online, but add our own suggestion (to order a larger or smaller pair) if necessary.
Since we verify the international size conversions or create original ones for all foreign shoe styles we sell, please use the conversion we offer on every applicable pair of shoes.
We have also converted our fit guide to EU sizes for your use. Please

General Fit Tips
The main function of shoes and footwear for babies is to protect their feet and provide warmth. Since the bones in children's feet are not fully set until around the age of 13, choosing the proper shoe at every stage of a child's development is very important.
Footwear for babies should be soft and flexible with slip resistant soles and plenty of room for movement. Baby shoes should never be tight or restrictive. The best material for baby shoes is a soft leather as leather will absorb sweat and keep little feet warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
Children's feet grow very fast so remember to check your baby’s feet often. It is important to allow at least one finger’s width from the end of the longest toe to the tip of the shoe or ¼" to ½” extra when selecting footwear size. If your child wears socks inside his or her shoes or booties, you may want to allow extra room.
Shoes should be frequently checked for size because the rate of growth may vary from one child to another and children's feet often grow in spurts. As a general rule, however, it is time to check your child's shoe size:
• every month from 1 to 3 years
• every 2 months from 3 to 6 years
• every 2 to 3 months, from 6 to 10 years
We do not recommend handing down shoes from one sibling to another. Even if the shoes have had very little wear, they will have conformed to whoever has used them first and all feet are different. If the footbed is not formed properly to your child's foot, bone development can be affected.
We do recommend that you supply your child with at least two pairs of shoes for each season, for wear on alternate days. Kids perspire a lot, and wearing the same pair of shoes each day encourages the stagnation of sweat and the proliferation of bacteria and micro-organisms. Kidshoos.com shoes are equipped with removable and washable insoles. They can be conveniently rinsed once a week in soapy water to keep bacteria at bay in the interest of healthy feet.
