Soles4Souls has a simple mission: To impact as many lives as possible with the gift of shoes.

Soles4Souls facilitates the donations of shoes, which are used to aid the hurting worldwide. Shoe companies, retailers, and individuals can donate footwear (both new and used). Soles4Souls is a 501(c)(3) recognized by the IRS, and donating parties are eligible for tax advantages.

The idea behind gifts of shoes is nothing new to the Soles4Souls team, as they coordinated relief efforts for the Asian Tsunami and Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, netting over 1 Million pairs donated for these disasters. The team originally operated as Katrinashoes.org with several churches partnering in the collection and distribution of footwear.

Kidshoos.com and Mt Vernon Community School Shoe Drive April 1st 2009

Kidshoos.com recently partnered with Soles4Souls to facilitate a shoe drive at the Mt Vernon Community School in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria, VA. The day was a great success with the Soles4Souls touring RV on site to help drive awareness of the Soles4Souls mission.

Even though the day was breezy and temperatures were relatively cold for the time of year, the enthusiasm of the community would not be thwarted and on the day we managed to collect almost 500 pairs of shoes! Most of the shoes collected were kid’s shoes, a much needed commodity for the Soles4Souls team.

Kidshoos.com will continue to raise awareness of the plight of children around our town, and around the world, with regular shoe drives in our local community. We would like to thank all those who participated, especially Silvana and Alan Clark, the roving Soles4Souls ambassadors.
