Our story:

Our daughter Emily says "believe in what you do, and do it!" Her enthusiasm and boundless energy fuel us every day, in business and in general. We are parents like yourselves and we launched kidshoos.com to offer shoes and accessories for kids on the move, and parents who take a stand. We also support local youth soccer and are involved in Team America soccer club and provide a small portion of our income to support youth soccer in Virginia.

Our offering:

Great looking, comfortable, affordable shoes for kids' every activity, every day of the week.

Our partners:

We are partnering with manufacturers who share our goals to:

> Offer high-quality shoes and accessories to our customers

> Provide a safe and healthy work environment and fair wages

> Be socially and environmentally responsible

Our secret weapon:

Our shoes are wear tested by a unique R&D team; active kids we know and adore. They are our own kids Emily and Max, their cousins, our friends kids, neighbors, playmates, classmates and teammates. These kids can give any shoe a workout so we know the products we offer on our site will live up to the demands and activities of even the toughest day at school or at play.

Our testing:

We at Kidshoos.com feel responsible to ensure our products meet or exceed US Government Standards with respect to harmful products. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) of 2008 set new requirements on the manufacture of children's products. The law requires:

1. Total Lead content in Surface Coating <600 ppm. All accessible coating shall not contain lead in excess of 600 ppm of the weight of the total content of paint or surface coating.

2. Total lead content in substrate material <600ppm. All accessible substrates on items intended for children ages 12 and under shall not contain lead in excess of 600 ppm of the weight of the total content. An accessible substrate material is any material or component of a product that is accessible to a child before and after mechanical hazards testing.

3. Importers of children's products must certify compliance with the lead content limits based on a test of the product or a reasonable testing program for products.

As parents we wanted to be sure all our Kidshoos brand products meet or significantly exceed the above standard, therefore all Kidshoos brand products are tested in a federally-approved independent laboratory. The result is we passed with flying colors and our products already meet the more stringent standards that are not being federally enforced until 2010. Can other online shoe sources say the same?
